Wolli
Wolli, the black nose sheep, is a great friend of all children. He appears regularly at events and in Zermatt's Bahnhofstrasse. Wolli, who symbolises child-friendly Zermatt, is a young, adventurous black nose sheep. This type of mountain sheep originally comes from Valais. They have cuddly white wool and a black face, which gives them their name. They also have black spots on their knees, elbows and tails. The animals are strong, winter-resistant and mountain-proof, just like Wolli.
Our children Sämi and Emeline love to give our little holiday guests a Wolli figure when they leave, hoping that they will come back to Wolli's home again and again.

Family-friendly Zermatt
Zermatt welcomes all families with children. The destination offers variety, play, fun and lots of physical activity in the healthy mountain air. Thanks to its fantastic range of child-oriented services, Zermatt has been awarded the 'Families welcome' quality seal. There are numerous family-friendly restaurants and the lifts and railways offer substantial reductions. Children up to the age of 9 can ski for free.
